Mack Lehigh Valley Operations
At Mack Trucks' Lehigh Valley Operations (LVO), we set the standard for heavy-duty truck manufacturing.
This 1.7 million square-foot facility has been a central part of our production network since 1975, focusing on assembling all Class 8 Mack® trucks for North American and export markets. The Macungie, Pennsylvania plant includes cab and chassis assembly lines, a truck modification center, and an engine grooming line. Recent renovations, including an $84 million upgrade, have updated the facility with Lean Manufacturing principles, new equipment, and expanded capabilities.
LVO is also working on sustainability. Since 2009, the plant has reduced energy use and carbon dioxide emissions by 50%. It now uses Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) to move completed trucks, cutting its carbon footprint by about 18%. The facility produces the Mack® LR Electric, our first fully electric Class 8 vehicle, aligning with our focus on both performance and environmental responsibility. LVO’s ongoing updates show Mack's commitment to innovation and sustainability.
